Child Drudgery- Not a case study but a real life experience

Let us start with a nail-biting question. What is Childhood? Some might say that it’s the period of a living being when it grows mentally and physically. Some well-off people might say that it’s the best moment of our lives. But, not every one can say that, it’s the best moment of their lives. You might be astonished, thinking that I might be dumb, but after reading the complete article you will think “Can we really say that childhood is the best time of everyone’s life” And I would conclude saying a flat “No” to your thought.
Yeah, we know that there are many policies to protect children from doing harsh labour all over the world, but the Big question is that “Is just mere making of laws sufficient?” The answer again is a “No”. These laws should definitely be made but more over they should be implemented. Why is the government not doing anything? Ok, it is very easy to say that government should do something about it, but even we can lend a helping hand to this noble cause.
“Recently, I had been to Pokhara- a must visit tourist place in Nepal. It was not a really big fantasy for me to live in the best hotel there or go there, since by God’s grace I was born in a good family. But, now I think that this trip really showed me what life an under-developed country like Nepal could be. I am not going to talk about everything but just one instance. “
“Oh! What a holiday it was, we should go to such places often dad”
“Yeah, Definitely we should, it’s a relaxation to the mind and body, as well as we can spend time with our family, Next Dussehra, we will go to some foreign country, What do you think?”
“Yay! Yeah we should definitely go to some place like Dubai, Mauritius, Singapore, or why not just Goa?”
“Ok, we will think about it, when we get back home, till then, Switch on the music Driver”
So this is how the conversation ended, and I was peeping outside the car window enjoying the music, when I saw an awful sight, I saw little children working at a roadside dhaba. I don’t know what went into me, I asked the driver to stop the car. My dad asked me what was wrong with me, I didn’t say a word and leaped out of the car and went to the dhaba, and started clicking pictures of the children working. It felt like they did not see a camera in their lives before. They just stood there working, getting astonished by the flash over them. Then a child came to me and asked me, “Bhaiya, aap hamara photo kheech rahe hai kya?”  I replied positively, and then he stood there smiling when I was flashing at each of the children and covering each corner of the dhaba. After I was finished with my clicking, I went to the child, who looked the elder of them all, and asked him a few questions. My conversation started of well, but ended with my walking away silently back to my car, with a silent crying heart, crying out to help them, but I could not. The child had a smile on his face when I started interviewing him, but he ended up crying. My conversation with him was not so long, neither complicated. I just asked him about the conditions that made him come to work to this place and not being able to study. And his reply was very simple but heart touching “My father and mother gave all of us birth, but they could not help us live our lives the way you do, so this is just our small effort to live our lives to the bare minimum level” Before my next question, He was the one who questioned me. “You are the first one to talk to us, others just come here, eat and go. Why are you doing this?” I had no words to say after that, I just walked out slowly in to the car. Then, it was my dad who went out, gave some money to them, and scolded the owner of the dhaba for employing such small children. Then suddenly the youngest child of them all came to the car and said “Bhaiya, I hope that you will come back again, I will miss you.” For me it was the best moment of the trip. Then the other child came to me and said that “I hope that this conversation with you did not go a waste” This is what inspired me to write this article. Although it is not so good, I felt like sharing it with you all. Because, in such type of socially sensitive matters, I don’t think that it’s words that matter but it is the feeling. This is my step to help them, LET US SEE WHAT IS YOUR NEXT BIG STEP

DISTANCES…… SHALL DEMISE

When you come to me at night,
With sun setting on the other side,
Surrounded with glimmering splinters,
Like an angel, and your smiles…

Then our romance starts,
across the time and distances,
we keep looking in each other’s eyes,
trust me, look like a princess…

Suddenly your face is covered with hairs,
through the web of which you stare,
I wait till they are gone,
leaving us again, all alone…

I wish the time stops,
and distances demise.
Again, even for a moment,
I want to be at your side…

Our bodies are mils apart,
still you are my part.
Even distances can’t separate,
the bond of our heart…

I need you to trust me,
I need you to believe.
You are the only reason,
for whom I live…

We’ll be one again,
breaking all the chain,
walking all alone in the lane,
for each other, losing our sane

The Teenage Dreams

I know that by looking at the title of this article, most of you will think that I am going to talk about the song by Katy Perry- Teenage dreams. But I am sorry, you all are going to be disappointed because this is something more useful than some song by a very popular singer. It is about US. Well, most of US don't know what does this US stand for. This US is not just a two letter word, infact it is the whole lot of people we count as US. And this time I am taking US as the teenagers of the country, the growing pillars of the country. When we are 12,  we think that "Woah! Just 1 more year, and I will be a teenager, we all think that teenage is the best time of our life, it's the time we should have fun and nothing else. But, Hello! WAKE UP GUYS! you are getting it all wrong. Teenage is the age when we should be cautious all the time. But, most of us realise it after we pass this age, when we enter mid age. Till then we would have marks on our body of those cuts we made when we were young, and then we would regret what we did. But what's the use then, wake up now, so that you dont have to regret later just the way you regret later for missing the school bus just cause you woke up late. This is an alarm for all of US, we still have time, WAKE UP! there is still some time for school to start. So, as I said, we are the pillars and pillars are always the support for the building. So we must be strong, to prevent the building i.e our nation from collapsing. But the question is, how do we do that? we cant put very good cement like the real building pillars. But we can build it stronger through our decisions. Decision making is considered to be the most vital life skill to survive in the 21st century. And the most important decisions are taken during this age, for e.g choosing the right career option. The job market of the 21st century may offer more options and flexibility than that of the 20th century but its volatility also requires us to become more resourceful, adaptable and pro-active. Learning how to do good career planning, is now an essential life skill for those who want to be engaged in their work, earn a good salary, and end their lives with a sense of satisfaction. We all have huge aspirations in life and a great deal of self confidence too, that is sometimes out of proportion with our abilities. We are taught to believe that we can accomplish anything at anytime. We are very lucky to have been armed with technology, many of us take it as a blessing , but some of us take it granted and use it for selfish and egotistic purposes. Most of US curse our education system, just because it's harsh. But WE are wrong, we should curse ourselves for not being able to adapt to the system, but our normal human behavior does not allow us to do so. It's high time we change our attitude and start being a bit flexible because that's what the society demands. We all say that we have our so called TEENAGE DREAMS, but did we ever think that is it really possible? It's all fictitious and unreal, some dream to date some film stars, some dream to own a sports car. But no one ever thinks that, how can we make it possible. No one thinks that if I work harder, I will be a big person in the future, then these things wont be a dream for me. Why can't anyone think this way. The question is WHY? And this is the question of the MILLENNIUM.

WAITING WITH A HOPE

It’s not that I don’t see,
It’s not that I don’t feel,
It’s just that you don’t see,
It’s just that you don’t feel.

I keep gazing at you,
Admiring your beauty,
While, arranging your hair,
You are quite busy.

Your smile, your laughter,
Which you don’t share with me,
Still makes me glee,
For reason not known to me.

Always at you, my eyes I keep
Skin so soft and eyes so deep,
Gaps between my fingers help me to peep,
Inside your soul, I want to seep.

I know you don’t love me,
But I hope u don’t hate me,
It’s just this hope which keeps me alive,
And gives me strength to walk through this life.

It’s not that I don’t see,
It’s not that I don’t feel,
It’s just that you don’t see,
It’s just that you don’t feel.
